The Wizards overcame a slow start for a 106-99 win over the Celtics in Boston, Saturday afternoon. Washington trailed by 18 points in the opening stanza, but hung around until a 18-1 fourth quarter run carried them to victory.
Trevor Ariza led the way with 27 points, as the Wizards (12-13) won their third straight, all on the road. Washington struggled throughout the first quarter, scoring only 14 points, but hit for more than 30 in each of final three periods. John Wall chipped in 20 points, nine assists and six steals, while Marcin Gortat posted yet another double/double, with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The inside/outside combination of Jared Sullinger and Avery Bradley combined for 48 points for the Celtics, finishing with 22 and 26 points respectively.
The Wizards get most of the next week off for Christmas, before hitting the road with a Friday night date with the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
