Wizards Lose In Toronto, Home For NY
Despite 37 points from John Wall, the Wizards fell 96-88 to the Raptors in Toronto on Friday night.
Rudy Gay and DeMar DeRozan led a balanced Toronto attack as all five Raptors starters scored in double figures. Gay was down with the flu and missed the morning shoot around. Bradley Beal added 17 points and Nene posted a double/double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, but Washington could manage only nine bench points. With Toronto getting 25 from their reserves, Wizards coach Randy Wittman knows his team needs more depth and consistency.
I have to get more production out of our bench. We just go into lag sometimes from an offensive standpoint where we don’t score for a period of stretches.
The Wizards wrap up a streak of four games in five days on Saturday night against the New York Knicks. Tip off is 7pm at the Verizon Center.
