Wizards Injury Update: Singleton and Okafor

Updated: September 18, 2013

The Washington Wizards updated the media and fans today on two significant current injuries as the NBA season approaches.

First,  the Wizards will be without Forward Chris Singleton for 6 to 8 weeks.  Singleton has undergone surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot.  Singleton suffered the injury during a voluntary workout at the Verizon Center.

In addition, and more significantly, C Emeka Okafor will be out indefinitely due to a herniated disc in his neck.  The injured vertebra is C4 in the cervical regions of the spine.    At the current time, it is uncertain how much time Okafor would miss, my best guess, the entire season.   The injury was found with an MRI examination and according to sources, Okafor will attempt to resolve the pain through rehabilitation, instead of surgical intervention.
