Well, that didn’t last long. The Wizards lose to the Cavaliers 115-113 at the Verizon Center on Friday night. Playing without Luol Deng (flu), Cleveland went head to head with Washington’s strength, the backcourt, and prevailed. Dion Waiters led the Cavs with 24 points, while Kyrie Irving added 23 and a career high twelve assists.

As usual, the Wiz were led by John Wall. The All-star point guard scoring 32 points and dished out ten assists. Bradley Beal had an off night, shooting only 4-of-15 from the floor, managing but nine points in nearly 35 minutes of action. Wall was honored prior to the game, addressing the crowd while showing off his All-Star jersey.

The loss drops Washington back below .500 at 24-25. It’s not just any loss, the Cavaliers (17-33) just fired their General Manager and limped into town with a six game losing skid in tow. Oh yeah, and it was at HOME.
