Washington Nationals Roster Notes

The Washington Nationals made a few 40 man roster moves to protect three prospects from the Rule V Draft. The Rule V Draft takes place on December 12.

The Nats optioned relievers Fernando Abad and Tyler Robertson for assignment, moving them off the 40 man roster. They added three big prospects to the 40 man roster for protection. Pitcher Sammy Solis, Of Michael Taylor, and reliever Aaron Barrett were added to the Nats roster.

Solis had a terrific season in the Arizona Fall League posting a 2.17 ERA over 29 innings. Solis fanned 29 batters over that span. Barrett had an excellent season at AA Harrisburg, recording 26 saves and a 2.15 ERA. Look for Barrett to get a nice look from the Nats this Spring. Taylor batted .263 with 10 homers, 87 RBI and 51 stolen bases at Class A Potomac.

In other new, the Nationals announced a fee front office moves today. Doug Harris was promoted to Assistant GM/Vice President of Player Personnel and Kris Kline wad promoted to Assistant GM/Vive President of Scouting.
