With President Obama and family looking on, the Maryland Terrapins lost to Oregon State 90-83 at the Comcast Center on Sunday night. The First Lady’s brother, Craig Robinson, is the coach of the Beavers. The President was greeted by a mix of both applause and boos upon arrival.

The Terps were pounded by the inside/outside combination of forward Devon Collier and guard Challe Barton, who combined for 60 of the Beavers 90 points. Oregon State, who lost their opener to Coppin State, improves to 2-1 on the season and in the process beat an ACC team for the first time this century.

Maryland coach Mark Turgeon returned to the starting lineup he used against Connecticut with Dez Wells at point guard. The Terps started freshman Roddy Peters at point against Abilene Christian to try and speed up his learning curve, but he came off the bench against OSU. Peters did get 25 minutes of playing time, scoring 10 points and dishing out six assists. Wells led the Terps with 23 points. Now 1-2 on the season, the Terps return to action on Friday against Marist.
