Terps Comeback Falls Short
A frantic comeback by Maryland came up just short as the Terrapins fell to George Washington 77-75 on Sunday. Former Indiana star Maurice Creek led the Colonials with 25 points, including the game winner with less than a second to play.
G-W, now 8-1, led by 14 with five minutes to play before the Terps stormed back fueled by a pressing defense. Dez Wells led Maryland with 16 points and eight rebounds before fouling out.
Oklahoma defeated George Mason 81-66 in the BB&T’s other contest at the Verizon Center.
Maryland, who falls to 5-4, travels to Chestnut Hill on Thursday night to take on Boston College.
