Terps Add Much Needed Post Depth
The Terrapins have added former Penn State forward Jonathan Graham. Graham is the son of former Maryland star Ernest Graham. Graham decided to transfer after seeing both his minutes and production fall with the Nittay Lions. Graham who was a redshirt last season, has applied for a waiver to allow him to play this season.
Maryland currently has only ten scholarship players (counting Graham), with only three “true” post players, sophomore’s Shaquille Cleare and Charles Mitchell, along with freshman Damonte Dodd. Junior Michigan transfer Evan Smotrycz has the size and the experience to play power forward, but is much more effective on the perimeter. Maryland could also use sophomore Jake Layman in smaller lineups, but he is a natural wing player.
The 6’8″ 225 pound Graham was a two time All-City Baltimore selection, playing for Calvert Hall. Graham is a redshirt Junior and will probably only be with the Terps this season, as Coach Mark Turgeon has a full allotment (13) of scholarship allocated for the 2013-’14 season.
Midnight Madness is right around the corner, just six weeks from Friday!
