Robert Griffin III cleared to play
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan confirmed at his postgame press conference tonight that Dr. James Andrews has cleared QB Robert Griffin III to play, but no decision has been made to play him because Andrews has “a couple of concerns” that Shanahan did not specify. Asked what those concerns might be, Shanahan demurred, saying he would discuss them with Griffin before talking to the media about it.
After the Redskins-Buccaneers game, Griffin tweeted thusly:
Operation Patience….Complete. Cleared. To God Be The Glory http://t.co/GxYMw8Cs57

Shanahan also said SS Brandon Meriweather was “fine” and it was good to get him back in the lineup.
