According to numerous sources this morning, Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has been cleared by Dr. James Andrews to start the Washington season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The news is hardly shocking, given the outstanding rehabilitation reports on Griffin all through the spring and his workout regiment during training camp.  Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said from the start that Griffin would not see any pre-season action, but that he was well ahead of rehabilitation schedule and expected to be ready for the season opener.

There you go Redskins fans.  The news you have been waiting to hear!
