Report: Robert Griffin III to start against Eagles
Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Dr James Andrews has given Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III medical clearance to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in the team’s season opener on Monday night, September 9.
What Washington wanted: Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will start their Monday night opener against the Eagles.

Schefter, you may know, became close to Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan while they were both in Denver and he is considered a very reliable source on Redskins news for this reason.
Griffin is supposed to get final medical clearance from Dr Andrews after an exam tomorrow, but that appears to be a formality. The actual decision of whether or not to play Griffin in the season opener is with the coach, Mike Shanahan, of course, but he has made it clear he will be guided by the medical advice.
