Redskins Stat of the Day: Red Zone Offense
Below is a Redskins stat that isn’t awful, red zone offense. This stat measures how many times the Redskins offense gets in the red zone per game, how often they score a touchdown and what their red zone success rate is [measuring that rate by TD only]. As we all know, touchdowns are for winners, field goals are for losers.
|RED ZONE OPPS||RED ZONE TD||RED ZONE TD %|
|3.3 per game||2.0 per game||60.61%|
|13th in the NFL||6th in the NFL||7th in the NFL|
For comparison, the best red zone offense is the Denver Broncos. They have 4.3 red zone opportunities per game [first in the NFL], score 3.4 touchdowns per game from the red zone [tops in the NFL], giving them a success rate of 79.07 percent, easily the best in the league. Dallas is second in success rate at 66.67 percent, well behind the Broncos.
