The Redskins decided to keep their own when establishing their initial practice squad for 2013. All eight players participated in training camp and pre-season with the team.

RB Jawan Jamison- 7th round pick didn’t have much of a chance, probably sixth best back in camp

WR Nick Williams- Former U-Conn star was the surprise of training camp and preseason

WR Lance Lewis- Former ECU star has tons of potential and bears watching

OT Xavier Nixon- Could be the future at RT, fortunate he passed through waivers

OL Tevita Stevens- Undrafted free agent started 48 games at Utah

DE Dominique Hamilton- Spent last season on practice squad, needed depth with only two DE’s on 53 man roster

LB Will Compton- Undrafted free agent was a star at Nebraska

CB Chase Minnifield- Favorite among fans and pundits alike, still around

While the Redskins chose not to pickup any players cut by other teams, there are some intriguing options should the need arise.

QB Tyler Wilson Oakland
RB Jonathan Dwyer Pittsburgh
WR Robert Meachum San Diego
OT Lee Ziemba Indianapolis
DT Marvin Austin NY Giants
DE Jermaine Cunningham New England
LB Everett Brown Philadelphia
CB Antoine Winfield Seattle
CB Ras-I Dowling New England
SS Robert Lester Carolina
