The Washington Redskins have begun the process of cutting their preseason roster from 90 down to 75 tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27 at 4 PM local time. DC Pro Sports Report will update this post as frequently as required.

First up to be cut are WR Dante’ Stallworth and FB Eric Kettani. Neither are surprises. Stallworth had been with the team before and his willingness to play special teams and ability to block gave him a better chance to make the team again than many might have believed. However, Stallworth has been injured most of the time and that has ruined his chances in Washington this year. As for Kettani, it probably would have taken an injury to FB Darrel Young for him to make the team. Young is a superb fullback, a favorite of both Mike and Kyle Shanahan and the team is not going to keep more than one fullback. Very few teams do.

Zac Boyer is reporting that the lockers of LB Roddrick Muckelroy, LB Quan Sturdivant, LB Ricky Elmore, WR Chip Reeves, and LT Jeremy Trueblood are empty, in addition to those of Stallworth and Kettani.

Those cuts are now confirmed and add injured CB Richard Crawford and injured LB Jeremy Kimbrough to the list of cuts. I suspect both guys may be back next year with the Redskins. No one will sign and pay them while they are rehabbing their injuries. Remember, if both Crawford and Kimbrough clear waivers, they can be moved to the team’s injured reserve list.
