Redskins Pre-Game news

Updated: September 15, 2013

The Washington Redskins face the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay at 1PM. Redskins fans got a bit of good news this morning. Safety Brandon Meriweather will make his season debut today. Meriweather was signed last offseason to anchor a Safety spot, but has rarely played because of injuries. He missed all of last season, but one game, with a knee injury. He missed the opener against Philadelphia because of a groin injury. However, Meriweather will take to the field and make his season debut today,

The Redskins must be pretty confident in Meriweather’s status, because they only have three safeties active today. Current Redskins safeties Jordan Pugh and Jose Gumbs are inactive. CB EJ Bigger played safety last week and will likely see time at safety today.

Redskins will also enter today with a new kicker. K Kai Forbath is inactive due to a sore groin. Washington brought in training camp invitee John Potter to handle kicking duties for today’s game.
