Redskins Cutdown List [UPDATED]

Updated: August 27, 2013

The Washington Redskins have begun the process of cutting their preseason roster from 90 down to 75 by today, Tuesday, August 27 at 4 PM local time. DC Pro Sports Report will update this post as frequently as required.

Although you see CB Richard Crawford on the list of cuts, expect him to be brought back once he clears waivers. He was only cut due to his devastating knee injury and the team still likes Crawford if he can rehab successfully.

The cuts made today reduce the roster to 76 players, one above the 75 limit. However, the Redskins would like to move DE Adam Carriker from the active PUP list to the reserve PUP list, which would keep him out at least six weeks. Since Carriker probably cannot return until December, at the earliest, that’s not a problem for the Redskins. The Redskins need approval from the NFL to move Carriker to the reserve PUP list before the final cutdown to 53 so the team is currently waiting for that nod from the league.
