TOM THRELKELD: Redskins win 30-20. RG3 plays well, but Washington’s running game & turnover differential are the difference in the game.

MARK BUTERBAUGH: Redskins win 27-16. RG3 shows off the arm, while Chip Kelly’s offense runs into a more disciplined Redskins defense.

TOM BLAZ: Redskins win 27-17. Eagles have trouble adjusting to their new 3-4 defense & Redskins have momentum from their unbeaten preseason.

Redskins: SS Brandon Meriweather, QB Rex Grossman, QB Pat White, NT Chris Neild, RB Evan Royster, DB Jose Gumbs, OG Josh LeRibeus

Eagles: DE Vinny Curry, OT Matt Tobin, CB Shawn Prater, OT Dennis Kelly, QB Matt Barkey, TE Emil Igwenagu

Mark Buterbaugh will take over tonight with a live game report of the Redskins-Eagles matchup in this space.

Eagles move up the field on the opening drive, pretty much at will. However, Michael Vick makes an incomplete backward pass and DeAngelo Hall picks it up and jogs 90 yards for a Redskins TD. Redskins defense allows Eagles to move again, but force an Eagles field goal. We are at the 9:15 mark and will finally get to see RG3. RB Alfred Morris fumbles on the very first play for the Redskins. Wow. And the Eagles score on the very next play, a Vick TD pass to DeSean Jackson. Second Redskins drive leads to an RG3 interception. Things not going well at FedEx Field. Redskins finally get sustained pressure on Michael Vick that yields a sack and an eventual punt. Redskins fumble the ball again and this time it results in a safety. Redskins defense forces the Eagles to punt. End of one of the worst first quarters in recent Redskins memory. Thankfully, the Eagles only lead by 5.

Redskins can’t sustain a drive and are forced to punt it away. Redskins get a huge sack from Ryan Kerrigan, which forces the Eagles to punt. Redskins go three and out. Eagles convert on a Vick TD pass to Celek after a horrible DeAngelo Hall penalty. Game is getting out of control early in DC. Redskins forced to punt again. This is pretty damn ugly. Eagles are driving once again. Eagles score once again. This is bad. Real bad.

THIRD QUARTER: Redskins 14 Eagles 33

Griffin antes an interception. Eagles score on a running play for a very quick TD. It’s a rout in DC. Redskins finally build an offensive drive, their first of the game. The drive stalled and leads to a Redskins field goal. Too bad Kai Forbath missed it. Hey, might as well. Why should anything work tonight. Redskins defense forces a three and out. Redskins finally sustain a full offensive drive that leads to an Alfred Morris TD.

FOURTH QUARTER: Redskins 27 Eagles 33

Redskins get the ball back on a huge Josh Wilson hit that caused a fumble and Redskins recovery. Redskins score again with a TD pass from RG3 to Leonard Hankerson. Two point conversion failed. Washington forces an Eagles punt. A little over 9 minutes left. Redskins trying to make this real respectable and just write off the first half as working out the kinks. Redskins are driving again and cross mid field. Redskins turn it over on downs. Eagles get a critical first down to extend a drive to try and secure the win. Redskins force a punt. RG3 hits a nice TD pass to Leonard Hankerson, his second TD of the game.

Redskins fall 33-27. Good rally try by the Redskins. Give them credit, they did not give up. RG3 looked dominant in the second half.
