OF Corey Brown was hoping for a shot to be the Washington Nationals fourth outfielder, providing key depth for starters Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth, and Denard Span.  That hope dissipated a week and half ago when the Nationals signed free agent Nate McLouth.

For Brown to get a proper shot, he would need a trade.  Where better for the Nats to seek a trade than the Oakland A’s.    Nats GM Mike Rizzo and A’s GM Billy Beane fulfilled another trade that sent Brown to the A’s in exchange for cash considerations.

Brown goes back to Oakland.  Brown was traded to Washington in the deal that sent Josh Willingham from Washington to Oakland.
