The Washington Nationals stayed in-house and rewarded loyalty, naming Bobby Henley as the new third base coach. Henley replaces Trent Jewitt, who left the organization to become bench coach in Seattle.

Henley has been in the Washington Nationals organization for eleven years. Henley has spent the last few seasons as minor league field coordinator. Prior to that, in 2009, he managed the Nats rookie Gulf Coast Nationals and was Spring Training catching coordinator.

Henley rounds out the Nationals coaching staff under first year manager Matt Williams. His coaching staff consists of:

Bench Coach: Randy Knorr
Third Base: Bobby Henley
First Base: Tony Torasco
Batting Coach: Rick Schu
Pitching Coach: Steve McCatty
Bullpen Coach: Matthew LeCroy
Defensive Ccordination: Mark Weidemaier
