Are you ready for some football?

Monday @ 8pm EST
Fed Ex Field
ESPN Monday Night Football (Season Debut)
ESPN 980
Redskins -2 Over/Under 38

We know Robert Griffin III won’t play, but Kirk Cousins is expected to play the entire first half. Other notable players that will sit out week two of the preseason include; Trent Williams, Alfred Morris and Pierre Garcon. Several old friends will be among the Pittsburgh special teams, coach Danny Smith and kicker Shaun Suisham.

What I will be watching: Position Battles!

Third QB- Will the Skins keep three? Can Pat White overtake Rex Grossman?

RB- If the team keeps only three running backs, can either rookie beat out Evan Royster?

WR- Can anyone step up and demand the team keep six at the position? With four TE’s this is not a given.

TE- Rookie Jordan Reed makes his professional debut, health at the position is the only question mark.

OL- Will Kevin Matthews, Tony Pashos or Jeremy Trueblood beat out one of the youngsters?

DL- Ron Brace and Phillip Merling need to prove they deserve a roster spot.

LB- Will Quan Sturdivant show enough to have a chance? Are they saving Nick Barnett for the regular season?

DB- This is the most intriguing position group to me. Can Brandon Meriweather be counted on to stay healthy? Will Reed Doughty become a starter or even be in danger of losing his roster spot. Can enough players step up, or will the team be eagerly awaiting Tanard Jackson at the end of the month. Raheem Morris sounds like he is counting on Chase Minnifield on the 53-man roster, does this mean the Skins will carry six corners and four safeties?
