Rahemm Morris calling the defense in the 4th?

    http://www.hogshaven.com/2012/9/19/3...fourth-quarter

I was told yesterday that Raheem Morris, the newly minted defensive backs coach here in D.C., actually called the defensive plays in the fourth quarter. This strikes me as somewhat newsworthy, given he is not the defensive coordinator and has been on staff for less than a year. After an argument between Jim Haslett and Raheem on the sidelines during the game--ostensibly due to the lack of adjustment made by the defense against Sam Bradford's dissection of our zone scheme--Morris emerged with play-calling duties. This decision was made by head coach Mike Shanahan.
I will admit that i was screaming at the TV to go man coverage and cut out this zone crap cause their WRs were wide open. So perhaps there is something to this.

If i remember correctly the Rams 4th quarter possesion was 3 and out, 3 and out, 1st down then fumble. So the play was definitely better. But was that attributed to the Rams shutting down their offense to run the clock out? Or due to the Redskins finally playing?

    hmmm . . . i thought the only scoring in the 4th quarter was Bradford's TD pass . . .

In his press conference, Mike Shanahan said that the report for Hogs Haven is completely false and baseless.

It may not be happening this season, but i have no doubt that raheem morris was brought on the coaching staff because he is gonna be the next DC for The Skins.Haslett's contract is up after this season, and I Think it would be stupid to extend his contracy based on the type of Defense we have played since he's been DC. I just hope that Shanny fires Danny Smith and finds a ST coach that can actually stop kicks and punts being blocked.

and just read this (source - washington post) . . . that both Haslett and Smith were among the coaches who recieved extensions in the off season and are both under contract until at least the end of 2013 . . . hmmm . . .

Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett is among Washington Redskins assistant coaches who received contract extensions during the offseason, coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday.
Shanahan declined to reveal details of the assistants’ contracts, people familiar with the situation said the coaches, including special teams coordinator Danny Smith, are signed through at least the 2013 season.
Haslett, who was believed to be in the last year of his deal, came under scrutiny after the Redskins struggled during a Week 2 loss to the St. Louis Rams. Some media have speculated that first-year Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris, formerly head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, would replace Haslett as the Redskins’ defensive coordinator at the end of the season.
Smith, who has directed Washington’s special teams under three coaching regimes, has been criticized by fans after the Redskins had punts blocked in their first two games. Last season, the team had five field-goal attempts blocked.
    thoughts??

It would be stupid to bring either of them back cause calling them pathetic is being nice with respect to their coaching abilities!

I just don't think that is the case. RM has been a career 4-3 guy and MS explicitly wanted a 3-4 defense. If MS wants to stay with the 3-4, RM wouldn't be the best choice. It would take another 2 years to convert the personnel back to a 4-3 alignment. I think the connection with RM is that Bruce Allen was in TB with him. If Lou Spanos doesn't take the DC job at UCLA, RM probably isn't even here this season.

But, all could change after another 14 games.
