Two members of the 2012 Redskins already has been notified that he has been released.

Erik Cook started two games at center for the Redskins. According to various media reports, he has been released by the team.

And Willie Smith, who was a surprise member of the final 53 last year and started three games at left tackle, also has been released.

Here are the players who have been released so far. Unless noted, the sources are multiple media reports.

Also, per , the Redskins have informed LB Bryan Kehl that he will be released if the Redskins can't trade him.

In regards to Thompson, that apparently was a Danny Smith decision as he was not fond of his ST play. Thompson played too many games last season and is not eligible for the PS.

No brainer here. According to beat reporters, DT Chris Baker has been informed that he made the final 53. Once Chris Neildt went down to injury, that became apparent.
