    Brandon Banks makes roster

John Keim from the DC Examiner has been told that WR Brandon Banks has made the final 53. No doubt, this was a Danny Smith related decision.

There was no way they could have ended up cutting banks.i think that's why they cut hightower so they can use banks as a back ocassionally.

This argument doesn't hold weight if the team winds up trading AA for Slaton, then they are right back to 4 RB's and Slaton is a burner, albeit one who fumbles alot. But so does Banks.

Alot can happen from now until 9PM. Banks could be traded if they fetched a big need.

True, but Banks is pretty specialized as a return guy. I can see them running the option with RGIII and Banks but him taking carries away from Hightower doesn't translate as Hightower wouldn't run the option anyway. Hightower was cut because his knee had swelling after the Indy game and had trouble cutting when he ran to the right (right knee injury).

I dont mind the AA for Slaton trade. I had a feeling he was going to get cut anyways. So we got something for him so thats good. I do like our RB depth with Helu, Royster, Morris and now Slaton. Has slaton been injuried or is he completely healthy?

Also, don't rule out Hightower being back on this roster after week 1. If he is on the week 1 roster, his salary is fully guaranteed for the season. Releasing him now and signing him later when the knee is healthy protects the team and saves some salary if he gets resigned and further injured or can't otherwise go.

I believe he is healthy. The only problem with Slaton is fumbling. Still, I think most of the starts will go to Royster regardless. I think he may be the boy int he spot light right now.

Go Banks go. But if he keeps dropping punts it might be a short run.

That's what scares me about him. First he drops a lot of kicks. And he is soooo small that the ball is very exposed when he carries it, I think it is easy to strip the ball from him and a big hit is more likely to jar it lose because he has a hard time covering it up.
