Normally, I would say keep Banks because of the speedy threat he is on STs. However, this season, given the loaded talent at WR, I can't see keeping Banks over Armstrong or Briscoe. Give overall stats, I personally think Aldrick Robinson has produced enough to beat out Banks and show he can handle return duties.
I don't think Banks is very special as a returner and he is not a WR at all. Banks only asset is speed. He will not break any tackles, so everything has to be blocked up very well. People keep saying he is a play maker. Play makers score TDs, and he didn't do that once last year. But he did muff several punts and that just scares me. He is so small that the ball is exposed so much more to tacklers to strip it and he cannot absorb a hit.
Banks makes too many good plays to cut him.if we do,he'll come back and bite us on the arse for the next decade like the akers situation did.
Nah, I don't buy that. Banks will only be as good as his specials team blocking. Like IFS said, don't expect Banks to break any tackles. Besides, the Redskins know him. They would know how to defend him. When you have an improved roster, upgraded talent, guys like this don't make the team. He is a mediocre to poor receiver and that spot is invaluable.
That being said, I am not convinced that Banks is competing against 'a final receiver slot". He could be competing to make the roster and they could short change elsewhere.
You need to go to the eye doctor man.he is fast, and a lot of times that is what you need most.I don't think Banks is very special as a returner
Um,is'nt that true for most plays?so everything has to be blocked up very well.
I Have'nt seen anybody other than banks on the current redskins roster that is half as good as he is returning punts and kicks,or getting big yards on a reverse once in awhile. who you gonna replace him with?austin, paul, moss? no way they cut him, regardless of what the say.
