    Redskins resign Litchensteiger

Reportedly a five year deal. Nice move. Keep the line protecting RGIII tOgether.

Tis a good move if at the right price . . . he was good, but not great and LeRebues (however that is spelled) played good when he got his chance . . .

I graded out Lichtensteiger as 4th-best out of Washington's starting offensive linemen last year. Only Polumbus was worse. Chris Chester was pretty good and Trent Williams and Will Montgomery were both All Star quality.

The value of Lichtensteiger is that he knows Shanny's system inside and out and he can play center, as well. Versatility counts for a lot in the NFL, as it should.

Redskins fans must hope that Lichtensteiger's performance in 2012 was more about the first year after knee reconstruction surgery being a tough one. The second year is supposed to be easier. Hopefully, that will hold true in this case. Otherwise, Lichtensteiger is a below-average guard more suited to backing up than anything else.
