PLEASE some one get him out of town. Thank Gosh we have have Davey Johnson, because the coaching here is terrible.
Welcome to DCPSR! Glad to have you here and look forward to more posts.

I am one of those on the fence with Shanny. I love the youth movement he started lae last season. He is turning this franchise around. What I don't appreciate is the lies from Redskins Park that seem to have become more prevalent under Shanahan. Not sure what on believe on RG3 injury reports are the DR cleared RG3 4 times during Seattle game. That seems to be supported by the fact the NFLPA has chosen to not pursue any investigation.

Thanks! Yeah its kind of skeptical of what is going on. To be honest I was a redskin fan from the day I was born until two years ago. I am not a firm believer in neither Shannahan. I think Mike is a greater drafter, but far as head coach, no way! The change in offense this year really didnt make any sense. I mean Griffin was 5th in the nation last year in Passing yards. The kid can throw. Why not put him in a pro style offense with the same play variables like they did with Cousins when he started against Cleveland. I think Kyle saw speed first, arm second. Far as the Skins as a whole, they have great potential. I cant wait to see Merriweather and Orakpo back next year.

I think after the injury, they are going to have to be more conservative with RG3. Not saying that because of the injury per se, but more so, it is the NFL. It is hard hitting. To have RG3 stay healthy, they need to curtail, the running. It was fun to watch. But, it isn't a sustaining offense in the NFL.

i really think the offense was designed to make year 1 work . . . Allow him to do the things he is comfortable at and can excel at without having to think too much while he learns more and more of the playbook . . . i also think that the pistol will be here for a while, but that the read option players were supposed to get used less and less often . .. and i think they did . . .that being said, the offense worked great this year, so i would keep the threat of the read option plays, that means you have to use it some, just less often . . . and even when running it can decide to run less often . . . BUT, the biggest thing that has to change to keep RGIII healthy is RGIII . . . he has to learn to slide earlier and get out of bounds more quickly instead of worrying about getting that extra yard . . . his injuries came on drop back passes while scrambling and could have easily been avoided if he had just got down (against the ravens) or out of bounds (against atlanta) . . .

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as getting him to slide or having him run less. 70% of ACL injuries are NOT the result of collisions. ACL tears happen most often when players are making quick cuts, stopping short, planting a foot too hard, in short, any movement that puts too much stress on the knee can do it. In fact, Griffin's tear of the ACL in 2009 during the Northwestern game when he was at Baylor was not the result of contact but when he trying to avoid a collision: " During a game against Northwestern State on Sept. 26, 2009, Griffin, then a sophomore at Baylor, "ran a speed option play" on fourth down, " I ran out to the right [and] tried to cut inside of a safety that was flying down pretty fast."
"As soon as I planted my foot, there was a little snap in my knee," he said."

He does have to protect himself better and he does have to forget about running the football for the most part but that won't mean the end of his risk. And you have to consider that for every knee surgery that you have the risk of further injuries to that knee simply increases. If they rush him through rehab for the sake of getting him back too early for next year that will be a huge mistake, and RG3 is just the kind of player who may try to do that.

Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has given the Redskins' rookie sensation a new title –- one typically reserved for knights.
"His name is Sir," said Umenyiora, who was born in London. "His name is Sir Robert Griffin. That is what I refer to him now.

Interesting . . . Dr. Andrews injected stem cells into the injured area of RGIII's knee . . .

    Source (HogsHaven):

For the past three years, however, Andrews has been experimenting with a new strategy. "Stem cells," he says. "What we call biologics. They're on their way, and that will be a transformational event." Very quietly -- "We don't advertise it," Andrews says, "and we don't want to sensationalize it" -- he and his colleagues at clinics in Birmingham, Ala., and Gulf Breeze, Fla., have been performing stem cell injections on professional athletes. He won't name names, but Andrews has mostly employed stem cells in the deteriorated knees of football players, and virtually all of them have reported significant decreases in pain and inflammation. "It's early," he says, "but the results have been remarkable."
very interesting for sure . . . hopefully RGIII allow Dr. Andrews to continue to use the term remarkable when discussing how the stem cells helped speed his recovery!!
