Here is my quick and cynical view of Shanny's presser:
1] Not good that he mentioned Adrian Peterson by name;
2] The MRI was very bad and he'd prefer to send RG3 to Alabama for a couple of days so tempers cool before the bad news comes out.
Yup. Let's just hope RG3 recover as quickly as AP.
Looks like the importance of taking Kirk Cousins in the fourth round.
i watched the press conference too . . . sounds like the acl (one he injured in college) and lcl (the existing injury) to me with dr andrews to see how bad, especially with the acl as it sounds as tough its to do with the previous injury, so maybe the graft is coming apart . . . that can be real hard to determine via mri and i wouldn't be surprised if the checkup wasn't a quick exploratory orthopedic procedure to actually look at the ligaments . . . MCL or PCL damage would have been very visible as those haven't been damaged before . . . so what are the chances the MRI after the Ravens game showed stuff regarding the ACL they thought was just there from the old injury and in reality the graft was already coming apart?? seems that the knee was FAR worse than a mild grade one lcl sprain . . . or maybe because they rushed him back it kept getting worse instead of better . . . but this injury was not dealt with right at all!!!
Shanahan's credibility is shot, (not that it wasn't already) so I don't know what we can say about this. I think it is some kind of ligament tear and it's a safe bet RG3 is lost for next season. I hope for the best, but it looked bad on the film so what else can you say?

Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has given the Redskins' rookie sensation a new title –- one typically reserved for knights.
"His name is Sir," said Umenyiora, who was born in London. "His name is Sir Robert Griffin. That is what I refer to him now.
i don't think that will be the case at all . . . AP came back from a last game of the season complete ACL/MCL tears and seemed to be just fine . . . from everything i've read . . . see this from the washington post: . . . according to that article, people with knowledge are saying partial tears of the acl and lcl . . . partial tears mean grade 2 to 3 injury . . . the reason for doubt is that the previous acl injury maybe covering up something new in the acl . . . expect exploratory surgery to see for sure (in the next couple of day probably) . . . i expect surgery, but not completely blown, definitely not a complete tear in either ligament or there would be no questions as to the extent of the injury . . . he will be back next year as long as he takes his time during rehab and has no set backs . . .

I hope you are right but he isn't Adrian Peterson, and this is his second injury to that knee. Hard to say because the picture isn't clear yet, (or Shanahan is spin doctoring and keeping the real bad news for later) but I wouldn't bet on him for much of next season. Right now there is no one associated with this mess that has a shred of credibility and I am just PISSED. They should have sat him for a month and let him heal. I never liked seeing him out there with that stupid brace. Right now the doc is changing his story too, so it's a MESS.
The surgeon who operated on Griffin the first time said it was a real struggle to slow him down and get him to do a proper rehab, so that has to be considered as well. I'm leaving this one alone, it's time.

The interesting thing to keep an eye on is the whole Shanahan thing and whether anything comes from it. I doubt it, but worth it to keep an eye on.
If you're talking about what Dr. Andrews said, he did clarify it and say that neither lied. He didn't get the chance to examine RG3 because RG3 wouldn't let him and just ran back in. Shanny looked over to Dr. Andrews and put up his hand assuming since he was still running that he was "ok". So Shanny told the truth and Dr. Andrews told the truth.
