Redskins Pick'em Continues through Playoffs: Redsknsn v. Seahawks

We choose each week the winner of the Redskins game. Those that correctly pick the winner get ONE point. We also pick the score of the game. Does not matter if you are over or under or if you picked thee correct pick, if you are closest to the final score, you get 1/2 point.

At the end of the season, who ever has the most points will win a FREE REPLICA NFL JERSEY of your choice, paid for by us here at DCPSR. What does it cost? NOTHING! Just put your pick right here in this thread. Then you are in!

Redskins defeated the Eagles 27-20 (47). Both myself and Seafin predicted 48 and each get .,5 points for that. Oh, and by the way, I have taken over SOLE POSSESSION of first place. HAH!

hmmm . . . well . . . this will be a tough game that i'm very glad is being played at FedEx field . . . The hawks have the better overall defense, and a lot of analysts are saying they match up well against the skins . . . i don't believe that . . . they are a mediocre run d, and the skins are the top ranked run offense in the league, advantage skins . . . and while they do have one of the top secondaries in the league the one aspect they are poor at is play action pass defense, they rank in the bottom third of the league at stopping play action passes and that is what the Redskins passing game is built upon . . . IF RGIII is healthy and plays his game (by the way, on the radio earlier rumor has it that not only did RGIII get fitted for a new brace, but he might not wear it at after all) and the Skins are able to establish the run this should be fun to watch!! I think the Skins offense has the advantage here and the Skins D does enough to hang on . . . Skins WIN!!!

Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has given the Redskins' rookie sensation a new title –- one typically reserved for knights.
"His name is Sir," said Umenyiora, who was born in London. "His name is Sir Robert Griffin. That is what I refer to him now.

I'm not happy about this, but 2 of the 3 stats I follow to predict games point to the Seahawks. Also, the Hog Heaven Magic 8-Ball says "no" to a Redskins win.

    Redskins 28

Booooooo . . . . . . You're magic 8-Ball will be wrong this time . . . the Skins running game matches well against seattle 10/24 ranked run defense (10th overall, 24th in yards per carry against) . . . and the Seattle pass defense, while one of the best in the league, is 24th against play action . . . which is 49% of the Skins passing offense . . . advantage Skins

That's voting with your heart; I salute you for it, sir.

But I'm trying to keep integrity by letting the numbers in the analysis point to my conclusion. Rushing yards (yards in general) are not reliably predictable for game outcome, especially when the Seahawks' running game can cancel it out.

Passer rating differential has a .667 correlation to wins. Track that during the game. Richie Pettibon says he only pays attention to turnovers and 3rd down stops. I'm tracking that during this game, too.

I am not certain of RGIII's mobility. Fully mobile, Griffin would cancel everything out.

Just 'cause I write where the stats lead me, that doesn't mean that's how I'm rootin'. GO 'SKINS
