LaRoche and Nats make 'little progress'

The Washington Nationals and 1B Adam LaRoche have reportedly made some 'little progress" towards a new deal. In fairness to LaRoche, this is his free agency period and has to get he best deal for him. However, in fairness to the Nationals, they want an answer from LaRoche soon. Not surprisingly, the Nats are getting a bit impatient. The LaRoche deal would have an impact on the availability of Mike Morse for trade purposes. The Nationals will no doubt deal Morse if they can ink LaRoche. But, as of now, getting LaRoche under contract is a bit more complex. The deal holdup is likely over years, not money.

The good thing about LaRoche is the second round draft pick that is tagged with him. That is where teams hesitate in signing LaRoche away from Washington. I am still pretty confident in the end, he comes back to DC with a two year deal.
