Sure, most NFL games have some measure of good fortune, holding calls see or not seen, PI calls, etc. But the Redskins have been creating some TO's. Some people might say if not for those TO's, we wouldn't be winning, ala the Bears. Well, that's a part of the game.
What has been impressive about it as well is wins include traditionally top playoff teams, Baltimore, NYG, and then two division rivals. Then you go on the road to a team with a three game winning streak and win with a rookie fourth round pick making his first NFL start. Some really good stuff.
Not sure I agree with the RGIII and Fletcher willing the team to wins./ This has been pretty much a roster effort. To say those two are the only ones willing this team degrade the efforts of Alfred Morris, Rob Jackson, Ryan Kerrigan, Kai Forbath, and more. They are finally winning as a team, not winning by individual achievements.
that's not what i meant by willing the team to wins . . . this started when RGIII was named captain . . . since then, you can see how the rest of the team is thriving off of both RGIII's and Fletcher's leadership . . . nobody wants to make a mistake right now . . . nobody wants to let them OR the rest of their teammates down . . . and to me, i really believe it comes down to leadership and the leaders forcing their belief in the team down the teams throats . . .
Nobody is willing the team to wins. [It's good to see Fletcher playing better in December because he wasn't very good at all the first three months of the season.] The Redskins are winning because the defense, while not good and quite poor in some areas, has solidified a bit since the lineup has become more stable. Fewer injures = better performance.
On offense, having the same 5 offensive linemen start every game has been a huge help. The lineup has also stabilized on offense with the return of Garcon. The team still misses a good tight end pretty badly, but there is enough talent and production that they can make up for some of it.
Most of all, the Skins have the top rushing attack in the NFL and they've had great QB play from their two rookie passers.
