Not to hijack this thread, but how active do you all think we'll be in Free Agency this year?
I'd like to see us cut/restructure some contracts and free up some cash. I fear some guys I like will be gone next year (Moss, Fletch, Cooley...), but with many of them it's probably time to move on. Others, like Banks, Doughty and Brown, I wouldn't mind seeing go.

I read somewhere that Releasing Moss, Cooley, and Hall on March 1 would save the Redskins $16.1 million on the salary cap for 2013 and we can free up quite a bit of money by cutting/restructuring other contracts as well.

If we do this, I'm hoping we can pick up 2 or 3 quality free agents and hit the rest of our needs in the draft.

as long as they are smart, absolutely . . . young, on the up swing players in the secondary would be fantastic . . .

The team clearly needs to address both safety positions, cornerback and right tackle. They also need to figure out what they want to do at tight end. They can bring back Fred Davis, but at what price? He will be an unrestricted free agent coming off a drug suspension in 2011 and a bad Achilles Tendon tear [no such thing as a good one] in 2012. Do they franchise him again, thus giving him a raise over this year that he hasn't earned? That seems far-fetched to me. Or do they let him test the free agent market and see what offers there are for a damaged product? I think that's what will wind up happening.

We can't go into next year with Logan Paulsen as our starting tight end. I like the kid, he's smart and a hard worker. He's a great success story considering pretty much nobody wanted him coming out of UCLA. But he's got to be your backup tight end, not your starter. A quality receiving tight end who can handle himself as a blocker on the edge in those read option plays would make this offense scary as hell. We need one pretty urgently. Paulsen blocks well enough, but he's not the downfield threat we need at that position.

I think the Shanahans were hoping Niles Paul would turn into that player, but I don't see any evidence that is happening. His transition to tight end has been pretty difficult to watch at times.

Here is another one, this time using draftsite.com as the guide.

Again, I use their picks to gague who I am allowed to pick as the Redskins turn comes up.

    3- Blindi Wreh-Wilson CB Connecticut 6-2 190

I understand that the Skins are effectively putting together a case to fight the cap space lost a season ago. Obviously, it was split over two seasons, I read an article that projects the Skins might not only get to keep the half that is expected to be taken away this off-season, but also recoup some of last season's penalty! How about that!

I like that draft, positions of need and some really good guys.
I wasn't sure on some of the later round guys so I looked them up. While I was there I thought, "what the heck" I'll post them all for everyone to see (info from nfldraftscout.com). I've attached them at the end of this post. I don't think Gragg will be available in the 6th round, but I've been wrong before (see Minnifield). I also can't see Tyrann going un-drafted until the 4th round even with all of his "issues" unfortunately, sometimes, it seems talent outweighs reason with some teams. If it works out though, I'd be happy giving him a shot. Especially if the draft pans out like you have listed :-)
Somehow, I think Shannahan will throw a RB or WR in there (possibly late round) just to throw us all for a loop.

Plz say heck no to Mathieu. He is not a good CB. He is a playmaker but only at stripping the ball and PR. Plus can't stay away from weed. Other than that not to bad a draft. I will try to put together a draft later.
