and the point i'm trying to make is that since Shanny has been brought in (and everyone is clamming for his head) that has not been the case . . . we have been using our draft picks and finding some valuable contributors . . . problem is that years of neglect have made it a time consuming process and we need to stay the course or we take a step back IMO . . .

I think the problem is that Shanahan is not focused on the offensive line by way of the draft, free agency or anything else. He isn't a good GM.

Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora has given the Redskins' rookie sensation a new title –- one typically reserved for knights.
"His name is Sir," said Umenyiora, who was born in London. "His name is Sir Robert Griffin. That is what I refer to him now.

while i agree that Shanny is not the greatest personal man he is far better than what we had prior . . . and while some of his o-line draft picks have not been my first choice, he hasn't completely ignored them . . . out of this list:

    Trent Williams
    Selvish Capers
    Maurice Hurt
    Josh LeRibeus
    Adam Gettis
    Tom Compton

so far only 2 of them have completely busted . . . the jury is out on the 2012 picks, but as most of them were considered projects we won't know what we have in them until we get to see them play (or unless they don't play at all) . . . Shanny chose these as he believes they fit his blocking scheme . . . we'll see . . .

also, don't forget that Shanny had to basically replace the entire team and while most players have been replaced, some of the replacements will need to become backups for new players . . . replacing an entire team and having them not only be good starters, but to also have good depth will take some time . . . i will say Shanny's first year was bad and not really the rebuilding he should have started with, so unfortunately we are really in year 2 of the rebuild . . .

I'm not saying he has ignored it, it just hasn't been a priority and to me it should have been. And I don't think it was necessary to "replace the whole team", the defense wasn't bad at all. It's much worse now. I have never been in a Shanahan fan anyway, as soon as he hired his son I figured he wasn't playing with a full deck. And he is here because he had no place else to go and no other big names would have gone to work for Snyder. Much of the problems we see out there week after week are the result of poor coaching. I don't know who else would be willing to work for Snyder who has any stature though so we will stay the curse it seems but Snyder is anything but predictable.
