Shanahan: New Additions in secondary as expected

Apparently, Mike Shanahan said in the presser that the new additions to the secondary, mainly Cedric Griffin and Madieu William, are performing as they expected.

    Really?

Then maybe that is the problem. Maybe we have set too low of expectations, because this team has allowed over 2500 passing yards in the first 8 games, second highest EVER in NFL history. If that is what Shanahan expected, then perhaps he and Bruce Allen are the problem.

If he thinks that the secondary is doing a decent job,he's a bigger idiot than most people think he is!

Griffin hasnt been terrible, but he hasnt been good either. Right now i would rather have him and Wilson as our CBs and Hall as a Safety. Williams has been terrible tho. He had 1 good play with the Pick six other than that terrible. We need tanard Jackson and Merriweather back.

In FA next year we need upgrade bad! There are some good CBs and safety i would go after.

    Jason Mccourty CB
    Sam Sheilds CB
    Jarius Byrd S

And if either of those CBs are gone would go after Dominuque Rodgers Cromartie

would love DRC, but with the way Philly is laying the blame on Ashumuagua (or however that is spelled) i would see them dumping Ash and resigning DRC . . .

as for the 3 you listed, the 2 CB's would be major upgrades and i would love Bryd playing safety . . . Bryd can play . . . he can hit and can cover . . .

And all of those players are at least 26 or younger.

It's the pass rush people. Big Ben had all day to sit back there and go to 2nd and 3rd options. You want to fix the coverage issues, the OLB position needs a Clay Matthews type on the edge. Kerrigan tries hard and Orakpo has a cool name, but neither is a premier pass rusher that scares offensive lineman.

Great defenses are built front to back, inside out.

That is the reason the giants have won 2 super bowls. they have not one,but two great pass rushers.i love orakpo, but it would not break my heart a bit if we passed on him and found a good pass rusher on both sides.i think kerrigan has a lot to learn, and we should keep him because he'll eventually be a pro bowl player. but we need pass rushers and bds as bad as we need o linemen.

I think the biggest thing we need is actually a big NT that is going to eat up lineman like Ngata does for Baltimore. Once you have that guy most everything falls in place. Well for the 3-4 defense that is since most of the passrush comes from the LBs. And we need to stop drafting guys who play one position and move them to try and fit into another.

while it true that our pass rush is lacking, our DB's are HORRIBLE!!! part of the reason for the lack of pass rush is that opposing wideouts are open from the time the ball is snapped . . . Haslet is in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation . . . if he brings everyone back into coverage then he gets no pass rush at all (and still no coverage . . . lol) and if he brings the heat he gets 5 open wideouts and a mediocre at best push (and still no sacks . . . lol) . . . while we need a premiere pass rusher we also need competent DB's AND a big NT . . . everyone keeps saying that the move back to a 4-3 would take time as we need 4 - 3 players . . . i think that is bogus because all the players we got to play the 3-4 were 4-3 players that we tried to convert . . . i am starting to think that we need to hire a defensive genius to evaluate the players for the rest of the season and then hire a DC that can best take advantage of what talent we have both by designed the proper defense and finding the proper type of players that we need to help that new/modified scheme work . . .
