Jamal Brown has Hip Surgery . . .

    Source (PFT):

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that Brown had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right hip last week. Brown is expected to miss four-to-six weeks as a result of the operation and, per Jones, should start the year on the physically-unable-to-perform list. That would take Brown out of the equation for at least the first six Redskins games of the season.

Brown hurt his hip while doing some running just before training camp, but it has been a problem for several years. Brown had surgery to repair a torn labrum in the hip in 2009 and has dealt with recurring issues over the last two seasons. The team hoped a variety of different therapies over the offseason would result in better health, but that’s fallen by the wayside.
well . . . hopefully for Brown this will help him get back to normal with his Hip, but he probably should just retire instead of risking long term issues . . . i think placing him on the PUP is pretty hopeful, IMO they should just part ways with him now . . .

Damn, you beat me to it Crazy Horse. Raise your hand if Jammal Brown ever plays a game in Burgundy and Gold again. Better yet, ever plays a game in the NFL again.

This is almost as bad as the McNabb deal. Cut your losses and move on.
Why they did not address T in FA we will never know, but they knew they needed to protect the Franchise at the start of FA?

Instead of going after morgan after we signed Guccon, should have signed the pro bowl lineman from the saints that signed with tampa bay.we could have shifted the line around with young guys, not older guys with well known problems.

The problem with signing Eric Winston I am convinced was the cap penalty. We were hamstrung. The Shanahan staf clearly targeted receivers as they key upgrade for Griffin. Can't fault them for that. I like the way Polumbus has played and I am okay with him. He has earned it.

I doubt whether Brown will play at all this year. Too big a risk, especially if this team is something like 4-2 or 5-3 when Brown is eligible to play. Why risk him getting hurt again?
