UPDATED: Skins Have A New Kicker

But the miss took a lot of the air out of the stadium and the Falcons promptly marched down the field and tied the game with 30 seconds left until halftime.

An NFL kicker makes that kick at least 80 percent of the time. Nobody knows how the dynamic of the rest of the game if the Redskins had those three points. Well, nobody except for Cundiff.

"You look at the final score and obviously, even if I would've made that field goal we still would've needed 4 more points," he said.
Seriously Cundiff? So the fact that we have all the momentum after kicking a 31 yd FG and going up 10-0 you think this kick wouldnt have affected the game?

I can forgive 50+ yd FG misses. But 31 yd fgs should be made EVERY time.

    I agree Chris.

I have no idea what this franchise ever did to receive this kicking curse. It has been a long time since we had a steady, consistent kicker.

should have cut him after the game. I Don't know who we will sign to replace him,but anybody is better than somebody who is 1 out of 5 in his last 5 attempts!

Skins to try out 3 kickers tomorrow . . . Source (PFT)::

According to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com, the Redskins will work out at least three kickers Tuesday: Olindo Mare, Josh Brown and Kai Forbath.
i'd take any of them . . . even though i have no clue who Kai Forbath is . . . Josh Brown has been good for St. Louis, even though he is getting old . . . Mare used to be real good, but not sure what he has left . . .

    Thoughts??

hmmm . . . i'd be hopeful that Forbath is the choice . . . he was the 2nd highest rated kicker in the 2011 draft, but went undrafted . . . was picked up by the Cowboys, but was waived with a non football related injury . . . he was with the Buccaneers during the 2012 off-season, but didn't stand a chance there with connar barth on the bucs . . . at least he is young at only 25 years . . . I agree Jon. He is young, has a good leg, and is accurate. H was 5 for 5 in pre-season, including 4 for 4 over 40 and 2 for 2 over 50. He stood no chance in TB. Redskins could go a long way in possibly solving decades old long kicking woes with a talent out there like this.

given the other two guys trying out are olindo mare and josh brown,i vote we go with the young guy and give him a chance.it's a shame when a veteran kicker can't make a chip shot 31 yard field goal consistent,is'nt it?

Forbath would be my 1st choice, followed by Gano. I would rather have Gano back than the other 2 kickers.
