He definitely deserved it. He is easily our best player and one of the best in the league as a Rookie. You just dont know if he is going to throw a bomb or make a big run. I do wish he would slide more tho on his runs.

agreed . . . the easiest way to end a promising career is devastating injuries . . . lets hope he has a knack for staying away from them as much as possible . . .

This is pretty much what I wrote on the front page:
The award certainly comes as no surprise -- indeed it would have been shocking had any other player walked off with the recognition. Through the first four games of his pro career, RG3 has completed 69.4% of his passes for 1070 yards and 4 TD against only one interception. His passer rating of 103.2 places him among the very elite at his position. He has also rushed for 234 yards and another 4 TD, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. He is on a pace to break Cam Newton's record of 14 rushing touchdowns by a QB in a single season, set by the then-rookie Carolina Panthers signal-caller last season. Griffin's 4 rushing touchdowns are tied for the most in the NFL with Houston Texans tailback Arian Foster and Griffin's fellow rookie and teammate Alfred Morris.

RG3 leads an offense first in rushing yards per game [175.5], fourth in points [30.8] and third in yardage [1687].

There are five rookie quarterbacks starting this season and Griffin leads them all in yards passing, yards rushing, touchdown-to-interception ratio, completion percentage and passer rating.

The shanahans are gonna get him killed if he is not better protected and takes less big hits.

Go to the story on our front page [via the link in my post above] to see the last time a Redskins player won Offensive Rookie of the Month. Also, see if any Redskins rookie won a similar award last year.

Tom has also posted an article tracking the Rookie QBs this season. Staggering how much better RGIII numbers are over Andrew Luck. Here it is
