The good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful and what it all means.

Probably one of the most underrated and under talked about part of the latest success of the Redskins has been the solid offensive line play. Not only are they providing pretty good protection for RG3, but the holes they are blowing open for Morris and RG3 are pretty nice. We expected the line to do that. It is a run blocking line. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with the pass protection.
i'll give them this for sure . . . much better as of late!! . . . Polumbus is still the weak link and i think with a better RT the line could be real good!! . . . my biggest thing that i saw last night was a team that believed it can and will win!! not once that just says they believe, but one that actually believes!! . . . Kudos for RGIII for bringing that to this organization!!!
Trent Williams has been great at LT this year and he really gutted it out last night. He was hobbling around during pregame warmups, clearly not able to move normally. That deep thigh bruise is really hurting him. But he played and played very well. The Skins ran for a ton of yards over him and he didn't allow a sack against JPP or Justin Tuck.
Will Montgomery is playing his position about as well as Williams is playing his. Both should be in the Pro Bowl, but chances are neither will get voted in.
The guards are okay. Chester is pretty steady. Lichtensteiger is up and down, but commits too many penalties. Polumbus has played better the last month, but he's basically a good backup. You don't want him starting. He was pretty bad the first half of the season and will never be more than a mediocre starter, at best. He just isn't smooth or fluid. He does not look like a natural out there. He's off balance too much. Skins need to upgrade at RT.
Good-rg3,morris,garcon,oline,The D in the 2nd half and the last drive,we got 1 sack and we gave none back!
Bad-some of the officiating, brandon banks return decisions,Cruz owned the dbs again,so did bennett,rg3 does not need to be hit as often as he has.
ugly-the 2 fumbles,1 of which we lost, those hits to rg3,the giants guy stomping the lineman during morris's fumble!
To be fair, Josh Wilson was great. Only two passes thrown in his direction, one completed, for a grand total of 6 yards. That's fantastic. DeAngelo Hall got torched all night, but it wasn't just him. Here is part of what I wrote in the Redskins Report Card, Defense for the Giants game:
Quote:
FAIL
ILB London Fletcher. Whew, what a horrible night in coverage for Fletcher. He gave up 73 yards on 5 completions out of 6 passes attempted. In particular, TE Martellus Bennet destroyed Fletcher in the first half. London is playing hurt and trying hard, but he's become a serious liabiity in coverage, particularly down the middle and against tight ends. He made 7 tackles, but missed two and wasn't terribly good against the run either.
CB DeAngelo Hall. Only rushed the QB twice, but got good pressure once. He's pretty good as a blitzer off the edge. However, he also missed a tackle and got repeatedly burned in coverage. Ten days after clearly out-playing Dallas wideouts, Hall was torched by the New York receivers. Victor Cruz burned Hall badly twice and he gave up more than half of Eli Manning's passing yardage. Even TEs Martellus Bennett and Bear Pascoe got the better of Hall on Monday night.
SS Reed Doughty. Very solid in coverage, as only one pass -- to Martellus Bennett -- was thrown at Doughty and he defended it well. However, Doughty got plowed over by the Giants rushing attack. He was repeatedly blocked too easily and missed chances to make tackles near the line of scrimmage. He didn't miss tackles, he just wasn't in position to make them.
