yeah . . . i think the only reason they announced it was to give the coaches a vote of confidence when everyone outside of the organization was calling for their heads . . .
Hmmmm, so if we were 2-0 this wouldn't have happened? head scratcher...
This is really odd. Our Special Teams are suspect at best. And our Defense failed to make any adjustments when someone like me(with no real X's and O's knowledge) can see we need to make a change didnt.
I just re-watched the block punt and the person that was responsible for this was Perry Riley. Looked like he was so focused on getting down field to get the punt returner that he side-stepped the man in front of him and gave him a free pass to the punter. Riley looked like a Matador waving a bull through. That is inexcusable, and Doughty should have seen it had blocked the rusher as well since he was the last line of defense. Instead he did a really quick scan then released to the punt returner.
Bad special teams all around.
Well, like I said, I believe these extensions were done prior to the start of the season. The announcement comes this week, a week after much criticism is doled out across the Internet. Timing is just odd. I assume it is Shanny's way of reaffirming his support.
I disagree! Haslett's D has never been good and neither have the Redskins special Teams under danny smith! it would have shown up worse this season.only reason we beat the saints was the simple fact that their D was worse than ours, and we got lucky the blocked punt did not end up really costing us like all the blocked fgs did last year.Quote:

Later on this season Haslett and Smith will eventually $**t ropes and hang themselves!
