According to Mike and Kyle Shanahan, we may see RG rotation between Kory Litchensteiger and Maurice Hurt on Sunday.

Additionally, at RB, the Redskins will take the approach that they should, they will play the hot hand at the moment. Like Shanny said, does it really matter who the RB is, if we are averaging 5.0 yards per carry.

yeah . . . i think the LG rotation is simply because Litchtensteiger is not in game shape yet as he has missed to much time . . . i just hope he doesn't set himself back, but the only way to really get into game shape is to play in the games . . .

as for the RB rotation, i think that not only will they play the hot hand, but will play the best match up . . . if we are playing against a team with a great pass rush, we will want out best blocking back in the game, if we are playing a team with a slow defense, we will want the fastest back in the game . . . etc.

RB's get rotated so some extent every game, so that doesn't bother me one bit. O lineman is another story. I have read that 78 might not have his wind yet to play every series. Hurt has made a strong comeback this preseason, he was not projected to make the final cut. In fact, he started the first two weeks of camp as strictly an OT. He got moved to G when 78 had the 2nd knee procedure. The fact that they are getting meaningful snaps from a 7th round project is a testament to the scouting department finding good players late.

I don't recall seeing Hurt enter the game, did anyone else see him in there? I think 78 went the whole game.

78 was called for 2 holding penalties and on at least one of them he was on the backside of the play (they ran Morris to the right for about 15 yards). I don't know how the heck the refs made that call. backside guard in the ZBS is cutting D lineman to the ground.

Nothing changing at RB. Shanahan said today that Alfred Morris is starting running back. No surprise there.

I think you are going to be seeing a lot more of Alfred Morris going forward. Helu and Royster in certain situations or relief only.

ahh . . . its ShannyCo . . . if he starts to struggle or fumbles the ball Helu or Royster will get their chance . . .

I thought Lichtensteiger played well given it was his first game action in 11 months. I would rather just see Licht in there as he should only improve with more playing time. The offense also was on the field a ton, so he probably was much slower late in the game. Hard to expect the line will be on the field that much again, although it would be nice to control all the games like that.

I thought Morris was outstanding, and can really see him become a true workhorse back. Certainly was kinda Rigginesque, that sounds weird, if not blasphemous. He fits the system so well, and takes a lot of pressure off Griffin. Helu is better in short spurts anyway, and Royster is more of a complimentary back. A constant pounding by Morris and Royster with a few changeups to Helu should wear most defenses down. Get to that 4th quarter, and it's all about game, field, and clock management. Morris is ideal for that role, and if he stays healthy and fumble free, he will be a stud in my opinion.
