I voted. I chose 9-7 and no playoffs. I think the Redskins have gotten younger, upgraded the roster, and will improve 4 games. Think they are on the right track but not there yet. I have optimism.

i went with with 7 or 8 as i feel the o-line and secondary are too big of holes to overcome add in the fact that RGIII is a rookie and while i do think they will be better than last year i just don't see how they can get too much better, especially with a very tough schedule . . .

I would like to see them win 9 and have a chance to make the playoffs BUT I think 7 wins will be a good guesstimate.

I have the Skins down for 7-8 wins. Washington has won only 11 games out of 32 in Head Coach Mike Shanahan‘s first two seasons at the helm and improvements are expected now. However, the team has a rookie quarterback and that usually means lots of losses. Even the Carolina Panthers won only 4 games last year despite an historic and record-shattering rookie campaign from Cam Newton. Is it fair to expect Robert Griffin III to lead his team to respectability in his first NFL campaign?
I think the Redskins have greatly improved their receiving corps and the front seven of the defense should be one of the top units in the NFL. However, the secondary is suspect, the offensive line is still a mess and with the constant [but necessary] overhaul of the roster these past two years, there is very little continuity among players. And, as I mentioned above, the quarterback is a rookie.
Injuries on the offensive line and lack of talent in the secondary will cause the Redskins to lose some games the rest of the team play well enough to win and a relatively tough schedule [for them, anyway] will do the rest. I think we see the turnaround finally begin in 2012, but it won't happen in one year. If everything goes right the Skins could win 9 games, particularly if they can get radically change their turnover ratio. More likely, they're a 7-9 or 8-8 team still a year away from running with the big bulls.
I look at the Bengals from last year with a rookie 2nd round QB and a rookie WR as their top wideout and they made 9-7 and the playoffs. While 9-7 may not get us into the playoffs, I think we can reach that feat.
Playoffs may elude us until one of either Orakpo or Kerrigan turn into elite pass rushers and raise their sack totals. I don't think playing with the lead will help them. Jared Allen didn't play with the lead too often last year and he still went off on the sack total. That's what we need for this D to take it to the next level.

the only way i can see an improvement in this team is if we beat the teams we should beat like the vikings who have beaten us the last two seasons, and the rams. i think we also have to beat each division team at least 1 time.if we beat the team we should and win at least half of the division games,i'll be happy at 7-9.
I'm going to have to go with 7-9 and 4th place in the division yet again. I'll say Home wins against the Vikes, Panthers, Eagles, and Cowboys, with Away wins against the Rams, Bucs, and Browns. Even that seems like a stretch as defeating Cam, Vick, and Romo is a tall order in itself. I'm figuring they catch a break and miss Vick once, and the last game against Dallas will be a gift. I don't like the Bengals matchup, but the game looks winnable at home, I give the Skins a split between Cincy and Carolina.
Injuries have already been a factor and further injuries could be calamitious. Not too difficult to see this turn into another 5-6 win season, and not having a #1 next year really bites. I don't realistically see how this team can win 8 games this year unfortunately, given the tough schedule, the weak offensive line and the porous secondary. I'll go on record and say that 6 is the minimum that Shanny can win and retain his job. They need to come out of September no worse than 2-2, or the lynch mobs will make this a very long year for Mike.
