I was going to start a thread about the defense but this thread is just fine. The defense played outstanding last night! I was amazed at how well they played, i kept waiting for the shoe to drop but it never did. If they play like this every week we could go very far in the playoffs.

Since he has been a target of criticism, let's also give due to Jim Haslett, not just the players. Haslett came in last night with a genius game plan to mix up packages and blitzes to keep Romo off his game. Worked quite well. As the ESPN article said this morning, after losing Merriweather, Orakpo, and Carriker, Haslett was at a huge disadvantage. He worked with what he had and increased the level of play and efficiency from his defense.

It seemed Haz knew what Romo was going to do before Romo. I wonder if this is the result of having a 20yr coach up against a 3rd yr coach?
Great job coaching and executing.

i will admit i was on the fire Haslett bandwagon earlier in the year . . . not anymore . . . i do not want to see any changes to our coaching staff . . . Haslett seemed like he learned to adjust to his personal at the bye week and has been getting better and better on defense as the year has gone on . . . last night was by far the best defensive game of the year . . . hopefully that continues in the playoffs and if so, the skins could do something there!!

I agree, he finally listened to my screams at the TV. Blitz up the middle and not the outside. LOL

i also want to commend DeAngelo Hall as he played his best game of the year, possibly his best game as a redskin last night on Bryant!! why can't he play like that consistently??

Cause we ran a scheme he excels at this night. We asked him to cover man to man which he can do. Its when we ask him to cover a zone that he is not good at. We also got pressure on the QB so he did not have to cover long so that was another plus for him.
The coordinators deserve big credit, Haslett for his game planning and Kyle for his in game adjustments once he saw what Dallass was doing to take away the passing game. He did not let ego (sorry McNabb) get in the way, adjusted to what the defense gave him and figuratively ran the ball down their throat. Dallass wouldn't adjust and he kept calling FreMo's #. For a guy that has been known to get too pass happy, that's quite an adjustment.
