It helps if you earn it. (http://www.dcprosportsreport.com/washington-redskins/redskins-get-some-r-e-s-p-e-c-t.html)

well, IMO we have a long ways to go and the respect will be turned into "same old redskins" easy enough if we don't keep making progress . . .

We have to win this division. Bottom line. I don't want to just get a wild card. We need to win the division and get a home playoff game, if for nothing else, to shut Heath Evans up.

Not getting respect can work in your favor. Consider the '82 Skins, everyone thought they were lucky and that Dallas was far better. Dallas found out otherwise. So did everyone else. Getting "trash talked" motivates a team to play better, let 'em blast away at us. The last thing I want is for the Redskins to get full of themselves and start thinking how good they are.

i agree to a point . . . in the past being the underdog meant that we had a chance as the other team might play down to our level . . . thats how we had a chance to win normally . . . THANK GOD that is in the past . . . now, I WANT TO be favored as i believe this team can win . . . a good team does not need bulletin board material to win . . . a good team prepares well, executes and takes care of what they need to do to get the win . . . i am hoping we will be favored more often than not for the next 10 - 15 years anyway!!

I was hoping to be the underdog today. So many things have changed this year.

:) . . . they sure have . . . and no matter how this year finishes, i hope they can take this momentum, add a few pieces and take next year by storm!!

Redskins are young and have earned respect. Respect isn't enough.

No backing into the playoffs by this team!

It's human nature. As Russ Grimm once said "When you win complacency sets in". That's what you have to avoid. Joe Gibbs understood as well as anyone.

Another thing about respect. That old Redskins adage of 'same old redskins' just doesn't apply to this team. As Shanahan eloquently stated that since his arrival, 150 players have been shown the door. This team was devoid of NFL level talent. He has reshaped and made this team in his image. It isn't the same prima donnas, aging veterans, and selfish players we have been used to the last fifteen years. It is a different kind of team.

It's amazing what consistent winning can do. I think Green Bay is the favorite in the NFC because of Aaron Rodgers but the winner of our game Sunday has as good of a chance as any team in the conference to go all the way. As long as we can run or pass AND play great defense, we can do it. Our defense is already prepared for any pistol and zone read option stuff San Fran and Seattle can throw at us.
