Merriweather is warming up under those close eye of Raheem Morris. Looking good.

Redskins defense looking a lot like... the Redskins defense. Ugh.
SkinsGuru
11-18-2012, 01:20 PM
defense not looking too improved after the bye . . . the started the year off with a big play . . . and this game too, BUT, they have to work way to hard to get pressure and in doing so can't cover a damn thing . . . gonna have to be a high scoring game for the skins to win . . .

Hall gets the credit, but it was Fletcher who made that play on the INT

k . . . 3rd and 21 . . . if they can't stop this they are not going to stop anything . . .
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:22 PM
This is more like the Skins defense we saw in the first six weeks. Lots of yards given up, but also lots of turnovers created.
SkinsGuru
11-18-2012, 01:23 PM
k . . . well we'll take another pic . . . Foles is trying to hard . . . and the Skins did get pressure . . . good things happen when they get pressure . . .

Okay, so I wasn't the only one thinking that.

RG3 ridiculous. If I was a defensive lineman I'd want to kill him.

Terrible third down play again. Man, we stink on third down.
SkinsGuru
11-18-2012, 01:27 PM
no liking that 3rd down call at all . . . if you going to run on 3rd and 1 . . . run up the middle . . . i think those downs are one of the best passing downs available as so many teams run in that position that the defense is geared to stop it . . .
SkinsGuru

lol . . . :) . . . that's one of the things that makes him so special
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:32 PM
No pass rush on third and eight. Wa-a-a-a-ay too much time for Foles to move around, find a secondary receiver and complete the pass. Never any real pressure.
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:32 PM
Whoa, Meriweather laying the leather on that hit.
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:34 PM
Credit Reid and Mornhinweg on that play. They saw the blitz coming and had the perfect call for it. They outclassed Haslett on that play.
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:36 PM
Eagles really taking advantage of Haslett's over-eagerness to get to the rookie QB. They're ready for Haslett's stuff.

that doesn't seem to be to hard to do . . . haslett, while i can see the justification for replacing him, does not have a lot to work with . . . the only way he can get pressure is to blitz . . . if the blitz doesn't get there the secondary can't cover anything . . . if the blitz does get there the screen pass is setup . . . if they don't blitz the qb has all the time in the world and our secondary, as stated earlier cannot cover anything . . . so, for all you "fire haslett" people . . . tell me what he is supposed to do with the personnel he has . . . ??

Boy, they like that option play, but it isn't working. Incredible Morris didn't lose three yards, but somehow gained a yard
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:49 PM
Unbelievable. How is RG3 a member of the same species as the rest of us? I can't do that. I could never do that and I don't know anyone who could.
Spence
11-18-2012, 01:52 PM
Don't you just love Alfred Morris? I sure do. If not for RG3, Morris would be my favorite Redskin.
Spence

Finally! We hit a big play in the passing game. Since like ages -- week one, to be exact -- since we did that!
Beautiful. Robinson just stood back there like it was a punt, he was so wide open.

IMO this play was all RGIII . . . he fake handoffs are second to none and the 2nd fake handoff on the play got the safety moving towards the line of scrimmage and left robinson wide open . . .

finally a good 3rd down defensive play . . . come on offense!!
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:06 PM
I hate that. One yard short. If there is one criticism I have of RG3 it is that he too often throws short of the first down marker. That happens a lot more than it should.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:09 PM
RG3 is 6-6 for 79 yards and two TD. That's a perfect 158.3 passer rating.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:10 PM
Great job by Perry Riley to smoke out that RB screen. Riley has easily been the team's best linebacker this year.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:10 PM
3rd and 17 and we give up the first down. Man, is that ever depressing
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:13 PM
Lucky Celek dropped that pass on third down because they'd have gone for it on fourth and less than a yard.

that means the routes are designed to run short of the 1st down markers . . . that drives me NUTS!!!

agreed . . . and philly would have gotten the first against us . . . all they would have had to do is pass and not drop the pass . . .
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:19 PM
Eagles pass rush really got the better of our offensive line on that drive. Skins going for it, though. We'll see.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:22 PM
Bad play by RG3. Held the ball too long. Should have just thrown it into the third row.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:24 PM
Redskins didn't do very well there. One bad play by Garcon and then basically a give up play by the Skins. Didn't use the timeout to take another shot at the end zone. Not good.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:25 PM
17-3 at halftime and get the ball to start the third quarter. Need to play better on offense. Foles is settling down a bit and probably won't make so many mistakes in the second half.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:41 PM
Skins commit so many penalties. They're just not a disciplined team, at all. Do these guys get punished at all? Is there any accountability for this persistent incompetence?
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:43 PM
Pathetic. We come out with the ball first, commit two penalties, give up a sack and complete a pass for negative yardage. Just not a smart, disciplined team. One of the most disappointing things about the Redskins is that in Shanny's third season the team is just as dumb as it was when Jim Zorn was running things.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:47 PM
Did anyone think the Skins would stop the Eagles on 3rd and five? I sure did not. From the start of this drive I've just been hoping the Skins would hold the Eagles to a field goal.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:48 PM
Meriweather hurt. Classic. Just got healthy. Having a pretty good game. INT. Looks like a knee injury. Classic. The Redskins have officially become the Wizards.
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:58 PM
This is our second half offense? A bunch of pointless rollouts with no apparent goal in mind and a endless litany of concentration errors leading to penalties and mistakes?
Spence
11-18-2012, 02:59 PM
Two penalties on Alfred Morris in the second half. I love Alfred but this isn't acceptable. Is there any accountability for the CONSTANT mistakes and lack of discipline?
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:00 PM
RG3 bails us out again.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:01 PM
We have no running game today. None. Either RG3 scrambles or we lose yards. No running attack at all. No sign of stretch running plays either.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:01 PM
Another short pass goes nowhere. Since when do you run a screen with no blockers? What kind of offense is this? It's absurd.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:02 PM
Shanahans have completely lost control of this offense. They have no idea what they are doing right now. Burning timeouts because players don't know where they should be, constant mistakes, stupid passes into the teeth of the defense. Just hideous.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:05 PM
What a play by RG3 and Moss. That was one of the ugliest offensive sequences I've ever seen and somehow RG3 got the ball down to Moss and Moss beat a double team inside the five yard line. Amazing.
Another chapter into the Book of Legends for RG3.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:06 PM
RG3 is 11-12 for 159 yards and 3 TD. Perfect 158.3 passer rating. I wonder what he'll be able to do once we get a real team around him. A few receivers, a real right tackle. He'll crush everything and everyone.

they keep saying he was lucky that the ball was caught . . . i think RGIII knew it was a defensive penalty and decided to wing it because it was a free play . . . either way . . . WOW!!! i'll take it!!!

Great blitz stunt by Haslett. He brings Riley, an inside linebacker, on an outside blitz. Really clever. Give it up for Haz on that one.

It was a very accurate pass by RG3 and Moss just made a great play. He out-fought two larger defenders. But the plays on that drive before that, apart from one scramble by RG3, where hideous.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:13 PM
Obvious late hit by the Eagles. I suspect they didn't think RG3 would slide. But he did.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:14 PM
Yet another penalty on the offense. Amazing. So sloppy.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:16 PM
Hey, just a simple throw downfield. And what do you know, it worked! Let RG3 play like a real QB. He's a very accurate passer.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:23 PM
Pathetic. Two attempts to get a foot and the Redskins could not do it. Humiliating for the offensive line. Show you just how far the line has to go. Don't believe the nonsense about the Skins offensive line being a real strength of the team. This line has been healthy since week one and it still can't get twelve inches on two attempts.
I like Trent Williams and Will Montgomery. You can have the rest of the line. Just awful. Awful.
SkinsGuru
11-18-2012, 03:34 PM
lol . . . the o-line definitely needs some work for sure . . . but a blowout?? can it be??

Good game but time to finish...hate the soft sloppy defense we've switched to this series.
And what the heck is with Fox ignoring the game to ramble on about fat boy Andy's future? Leave that to an Eagles home game at least....

EXACTLY! Trust RG3. He's only the best player on the team by a country mile.
Spence
11-18-2012, 03:53 PM
9 players have caught a pass today. All 4 players who have scored have only caught that one pass. Amazing. RG3 has no really good receivers so he spread it all over the place.

we would be in deep kimshi without RG3 folks!

The last one I can think of was Jim Zorn's last victory, beating the Raiders 31-13 or something like that.

Agree 100% with this. Earlier in the year I was thinking we would need extra WR help for next year, but now I am 100% convinced this team needs to use it's 2nd round pick in the draft to pick the best OT on the board. If this team could give RG3 a clean pocket for classic drop back passes, with his accuracy, he would be deadly. Polumbus gets pushed back wayyyy toooo much. Maybe LeRibeus or Gettis can take the LG spot and move 78 to center and get Monty out of there. They need to build a great O line to give RG3 a clean pocket and open lanes for Morris.

yeah . . . that and fix the defense . . . not surch an easy task . . . but the future sure looks better than before RGIII!!
