I can't really disagree with him. He's right, it's coaching and the players too and you see the problems in every game. You wonder who runs the defense and whoever it is they are asleep at the wheel. What I wonder now is whether Mitchell will keep his press pass to Redskins Park. He is as frank and tough as John Riggins. The question though is if you can Shanahan now, who do we get? Are there good coaches out there willing to work for Dan Snyder? That I think remains the main question.

they certainly have been terrible . . . when you finally think a culture change happened it comes crashing back to thoughts of having been there done that . . . has anything really changed??

I Think Andy Reid would be a good replacement.the guy is a proven winner, and knows how to move the ball and put points on the board.give him a decent DC like he in spagnola in philly, and with a qb who came into the league better than vick is,we could be competitive every season! shanny looks lost out there on the field on what he is seeing! how can he not dump Haslett during the bye week and give somebody else a chance? they can't get any worse can they?

Andy Reid would not be my first choice . . . i think its his EGO that has destroyed the team in Philly and and IMO he should be fired faster than ShannyCo . . .
maybe Gruden . . . he is a good coach and disciplinarian . . . he is great with QB's and offenses in general . . .
maybe Fewell from the giants . . . good DC . . . good disciplinarian . . . from what i heard very organized and very respected . . .
also, maybe Horton, the DC from AZ . . . lots of fire . . . good disciplinarian . . . good at getting the most out of his players . . .
THis team is not good. Isolated good plays interrupted by your best players making unprofessional mistakes. Trent Williams, holding. Hankerson and Morgan, dropped passes. Wilson and Hall, getting beat deep one on one. Safeties letting slot receivers run straight down the field to score long TD with less than 2 minutes left.
The season slipped away from us in NY on that play. Rookie QB gives you the lead with less than 2 minutes and the defense gives it right back, totally unable to stop anyone when it is needed most.
It's hard to say what the needs of this team are on offense because we can't see the true potential with all of the drive killing mistakes we inflict on ourselves. Drops, penalties, etc. The defense needs 2 impact edge rushers (sorry Kerrigan, not enough speed there). ILB's are probably ok. 3/4 of the secondary needs rebuilding.
Bad team. Lucky to have 3 wins.
Should have kept Lou Spanos and fired Haslett last offseason.

I really think Haslett needs to be shown the door and we need to go after another DC, but who could we get that would run the 3-4 scheme? There are not many out there that are available. Maybe go after Mangini?

I'd call Spanos back from UCLA.
