Maryland and Duke played for the 177th and perhaps final time in regular season play on Saturday night. In what will go down as another instant classic, Duke held on for an exciting 69-67 win, their 30th straight win at home.

Maryland (14-12, 6-7 ACC) had several chances to win late, but Charles Mitchell just missed the mark on two occasions, deep in the paint with under ten seconds to play. Dez Wells was unconscious in the second half, scoring all 17 of his points after intermission. Jake Layman kept the Terps within striking distance with a strong fist half, leading Maryland with 18.

The Terrapins did a great job of limiting Duke from long range, as the Blue Devils, the ACC’s leading 3 point shooting team, were held to 5-for-24 from beyond the circle.

Freshman sensation Jabari Parker led Duke (20-5, 9-3) with 23 points and eight rebounds. Rodney Hood and Rasheed Sulaimon were the only others in double figures, with eleven points apiece.
