The Washington Nationals have placed starter Dan Haren on waivers. Haren got a nice one year deal from the Nats for one year and has $3.7 million left on his deal.

Needless to say, the Nats expected better than a 5.14 ERA that Haren posted this season. He also given up a National League leading 21 home runs. The timing is kind of odd considering Haren has posted a 2.40 ERA over his last 5 starts.

The story comes from a tweet by Danny Knobler of CBS.
