Cowboys player fined for hit on Amerson
The ESPN has fined Dallas Cowboys linebacker Cameron Lawrence $21,000 for an illegal helmet-to-helmet blind-side hit on Redskins cornerback David Amerson.
The hit took place during a 90-yard kickoff return by Dallas last Sunday night and the block Cameron threw on Amerson was critical to breaking the play. No flag was thrown on the play.
Amerson was limited in practice on Wednesday, but has passed his initial concussion protocol tests. He will continue to be tested until later in the week.
Lawrence earns the league minimum of over $23,000 per week so he will be allowed to pay the fine in installments.
