Updated: September 4, 2013

The Washington Capitals have signed 2013 first round pick Andre Burakovsky to a three year entry level deal. Burakovsky is attending the Caps rookie camp, but will play this season in the OHL for the Erie Otters.

Washington selected Burakovsky with the 23rd overall pick o the 2013 NHL Draft. When selecting the 18 year-old forward, the Caps knew that Burakovsky was at least two years away from being NHL ready. After dealing former first round pick Filip Forsberg to Naskville for Martin Erat at the trade deadline, the Caps were looking to add another elite forward to replace Forsberg.
