The farewell tour continues for the Maryland Terrapins. Tuesday night in Chapel Hill, the Terps trailed 19-3 early and never could climb all the way back, falling 75-63.

As the games final seconds ticked down, Tar Hell fans chanted “ACC, ACC, ACC” bidding the Terps good bye from Chapel Hill. Guard Marcus Paige led the Tar Heels (15-7, 5-4) with 25 points, while dishing out seven assists. Brice Johnson had a strong night, going eight-for-eight from the floor, finishing with 19 points.

After playing 30 minutes of turnover free basketball in Saturday’s blow out win at Virginia Tech, Dez Wells returned to the Maryland starting lineup. Unfortunately for coach Mark Turgeon, Wells’ turnovers also returned. Dez led the Terps with 18 points, but was responsible for nearly half (seven) of his team’s 16 giveaways. Evan Smotrycz chipped in 14 and Seth Allen eleven for Maryland. Charles Mitchell started and continued to sweep the boards (13), but fouled out with only five points in 20 minutes of work.

The Terrapins, now 13-10 overall and 5-5 in the ACC, return home for a Saturday afternoon game against Florida State at the Comcast Center. The game will be carried by ESPN2 with a 3pm tip off. The Seminoles crushed Maryland four weeks ago, 85-61 in Tallahassee.
