Smoke Signals: Haynesworth thing becoming a ‘distraction’

AUTHOR: | IN: Washington Redskins | COMMENTS: None Yet |

The talks between the Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans regarding a possible trade of disgruntled DT Albert Haynesworth, back to his old team, were obviously reported yesterday.  Despite no news of an actual trade or imminent trade, GM Bruce Allen stated late yesterday that the Redskins were not trying to shop Haynesworth.  Meanwhile, Tennessee head coach Jeff Fisher stated that if the Redskins were interested in trading Haynesworth, the Titans would listen.  So where the hell are we now?  Same place as yesterday.

Some out there believe the Redskins players just tune this how Haynesworth/Shanahan feud out.  However, LB Brian Orakpo says the issue is very distracting.  Not good news.

If you wanted a little wrap up on QB Donovan McNabb and his comments regarding Albert Haynesworth and a potential trade, read Rich Campbell’s article.

As we talked about since Jim Haslett was hired by Mike Shanahan to run the Redskins defense the paramount focus is on generating turnovers.  If pre-season is an indication, the Redskins will likely see more turnovers.
